The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is an improved and extended re-release of the original The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which added new enemies, equipment, locations, characters, and also included all DLCs. In addition, the game has been reworked graphics, added new effects and increased the detail of environments.

• First of all, the changed colors and lots of new filters are striking. If the standard version of Skyrim mainly showed cool shades, muffled and even faded tones with an abundance of gray, brown and white, then in reprinting everything began to play with bright colors. A new color scheme can hardly be called a flaw, but it may seem unusual to those who have not fundamentally installed fashion and played the standard version of the game.
• In the reprint, they added high-resolution shadows, plus a beautiful God Rays effect. As for textures and effects, there are no significant changes in this regard in the Special Edition. In the reprint, the authors added improved textures from the free official Skyrim High Resolution Pack, which previously could be installed on the Steam version of the original. Everything looks good, but some textures still lack clarity.

• The same situation with new water shaders. Beautiful waves appeared on the surface of the rivers, and there were clear reflections in the water, but the shader is still not far from the ink opaque mass from the original Skyrim. Slightly changed and distance drawing.
• Of the truly significant changes worth noting is the significantly increased amount of vegetation. All kinds of mushrooms and flowers have sprouted on the bare trails, and the forests look really dense thanks to the dense foliage. Happy and prettier snow in the mountains. A special shader was put on it, so now the snow shines beautifully and shines in the sun
• Bethesda upgraded Skyrim – Special Edition to a modified version of the Creation Engine, which was already used in Fallout 4. The new engine supports 64 bits, the main graphics API was DirectX 11. The old version of the Creation Engine (the original Skyrim was released) had DirectX 9 support, and the bit depth of the engine was 32 bits.
• Updated engine runs faster and more stable. The size of the used RAM is no longer limited to four gigabytes, and this is very good news for those who like to instruct a variety of mods, the total size of which is tens of gigabytes.
